FEI VETS COURSE IRELAND

Start: 2017-02-22 00:32:59

E-Mail received from Dr Dermot Forde, FEI National Head Veterinarian, Ireland :-

From :- nrea@horsesportireland.ie

Dear National Head Veterinarian, Dear colleague,

AS YOU KNOW IT IS NOW MANDATORY FOR FEI OFFICIAL VETERINARIANS AND FOR PERMITTED TREATING VETERINARIANS ASPIRING TO PROMOTION TO “OFFICIAL” STATUS, TO ATTEND AN APPROVED FEI VETERINARY COURSE AT LEAST ONCE EVERY FOUR YEARS.
I am writing to inform you that such a course will be held in the picturesque, medieval town of Trim, County Meath, Ireland, on June 1st and 2nd next and we would love to welcome qualified colleagues from your federation who might be interested in attending.
Trim is only 45 minutes from Dublin Airport and half an hour from the location of  the immensely popular Tattersalls CCI and CIC (one star to three star level) at Ratoath, which will run during the same week. We intend to include the trot-up for at least one of the classes in our course agenda (see attached programme together with the course invitation and registration form).
Upon conclusion of the course, delegates will also have the opportunity, on Friday 3rd and/or Saturday 4th June, of observing the Cross Country phases of the Tattersalls event in the company of members of the on-duty veterinary team.
In addition, the course dinner or barbecue will be held on the evening of June 1st on the balcony of the conference hotel, which overlooks the 12th century Trim Castle. With good food, the odd drink (!) and some traditional Irish music thrown in, it promises to be the ideal social occasion for networking with friends and colleagues.
I should be very grateful if you would be so kind as to bring this notice to the attention of your FEI veterinarians.
We guarantee them a “hundred thousand welcomes” should they decide to come visit the “land of the horse”.
Colleagues interested in joining the course should contact the course secretary, Nadia Rea at nrea@horsesportireland.ie
The closing date for registration is Friday, 13th May.

With best regards and many thanks,

Dr Dermot Forde
FEI National Head Veterinarian, Ireland
