In recent past , there has been a growing number of officials qualifying in various courses of equestrian disciplines and becoming International status judges.

One of our most visible and venerable National judges , Brig DVS Bishnoi was member of Ground Jury  in Asia Pacific Eventing 2006 and  was also a member of Ground Jury in the Asian Games Eventing 2006 - a singular honour for any Indian judge till date as a foreign judge. He was also the first Asian to be a Technical official for Atlanta Olympics 1996.

The determination to be a world class judge involves heavy one sided investments besides total committment to sport. Travelling overseas often , living out of a suitcase and compromising severly on a peaceful and stable life are the inescapable.

Two such past National championship winners have been possessed with the zeal to qualify themselves to International status since the previous one year.

By spending huge amount of personal finances , clocking up thousands of air travel  miles between various continents , Lt Col Sunil Shiv Das and Lt Col Dushyant Bali have been continuously upgrading their skills as active dressage judges, during the last two years.

The Federation has helped them with limited financial assistance to successively complete two FEI International Dressage courses at Thailand and South Korea.

The two  judges have assisted and have been tested by International ‘O’ judges at International Dressage competitions at Grand Prix Special level and Grand Prix Free Style level which is the highest level in Dressage. These competitions included participants from the Beijing Olympics 2008 like Heike Kemmer, Hans Peter, Victoria Max Theurer, Edward Gal, and others. Following has been their judging exposure with the ‘O’ Judges in 2007 - 08 :-

These efforts have made Lt Col Shiv Das Lt Col Dushyant Bali experience the highest level of dressage judging in the world.
